About Charlotte

Ideals and Values

Professionalism, ethics, life long learning and relationships are the standards by which Charlotte McDermott has built her real estate career. As she enters her 10th year in the business of helping people realize their dreams, she treasures the tremendous friendships acquired through the process of buying and selling. Providing outstanding customer service and exceeding expectations are vital to her.

Taking pride in dealing directly with her customers, Charlotte intentionally chooses to work independently, rather than with a team. She believes the very best service is delivered through a one to one relationship with her clients. Integrity, trust, honesty and respect from her peers, and customers are virtues of the utmost importance to her.

Charlotte’s strong communication skills, listening to her client’s priorities, providing sound advice, “win win” negotiating emphasis, attention to detail, tenacity, and passion for excellence contribute and drive her success.

Commitment to Community

Charlotte strongly believes in giving back to the community she has been immersed in for the past 26 years. Having served as a director on the boards of numerous local organizations, she continues to make regular financial and leadership contributions to the United Way of 1,000 Lakes, the Myles Reif Performing Arts Center, the Itasca County YMCA, the Itasca Medical Foundation, and the Grand Rapids Area Library Foundation.

She is currently giving back to her profession as a director on the Itasca County Board of Realtors and is an active member of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce.

Educational Background

Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota Charlotte graduated from the St. Paul Academy and Summit Schools, Pine Manor Junior College, and Boston College, both in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Charlotte’s determination for continual challenge led her into the field of real estate in 1999. She continued to pursue a higher level of professionalism by attaining her Graduate of Realtor Institute degree followed by her Certified Residential Specialist designation two years later. The CRS is an advanced degree attained by only 4% of realtors nationwide. Charlotte has been a two time graduate of the Blandin Foundation Leadership Development Program.

Achievements

With an excellent sales history, Charlotte has during her tenure with Prudential Lakes Realty earned both the President’s Circle and Leading Edge Society awards numerous times. As a multi million dollar producer, she continually emphasizes it is the relationships built through her career, that she places the highest value upon. “The tremendous friendships I have developed through real estate are the greatest rewards of my profession”, is the philosophy she holds dear.

Family

Charlotte and husband Peter, CEO of Minnesota Diversified Industries, and father, retired dentist, William Bray enjoy a beautiful home overlooking premier Lake Pokegama. The three and a half years they spent with their children Betsy and Tripper in Auckland, New Zealand, provided tremendous insight to the challenges and rewards of both international relocation and travel. Enlightened by their past international experience, all are happily immersed in their current adult lives and pursuits. Rounding out their household, is much loved Springer Spaniel, Annie Zoe McDermott.
